Hi advocates of change to the Age of Consent laws in Australia,

I just thought i would post what i have been doing lately to advocate for this change. I have been in contact with various Youth and LGBTI organisations and sent them the link for my site and asked them to sign my petition. I also have contacted a local radio station to find out if there was any chance of doing a story on this issue and i am waiting for them to get back to me.I have also suggested the topic for a talk back show on one of our tv stations here in australia.

I have hopes that this issue will become as valid and popular as the "Gay Marriage" Debate with the australian polititions and media, Although it will be a hard fought battle as Australia is heading once again into a time of cultural regression and conservatism. But please i ask you not to give up on the rights of all youth in australia to be recognised for who they are and allowed to express themselves without fear and judgement on an equal basis as there peers.

The Big Question is Why?

 

Why Is it still ok to Discriminate on a persons Gender and Sexuality in this manner when we have laws against discrimination based on sexuality and gender?

 

Why do some states consider teenagers to be mature enough at 16 and others at 17 or 18?

 

Why in 2013 are Gay Teenagers in Queensland still being legally predjudiced against because of their sexual practices under the age of 18?

Basically.............Teenagers are having sex Legally or not

It's time to truly end discrimination... It's time for equality for Sexualities and Genders...

It's time to show every teenager in Australia their no Backward or Ignorant,Dirty, Worthless or Disgusting than anyone else because they are an individual sexual being...On the same journey as anyone else their age.

So cmon Australia let's have a common Age of Consent of 16 for all Genders and Sexualities in Australia in 2013.....It's Time.Same Age Same Journey.
